I'm interested in this as a toybox. Is the lid too heavy for small children to lift? And, this might be a silly question, but what about splinters? Is it pretty smooth?
Hi Sabrina, just so you know this chest opening measures 21 1/2 inches by 14 inches and is 11 inches deep. It could definitely be used as a smaller toybox and would be really cute! The lid is not very heavy and could be lifted easily by children. We have sanded the wood down and put a top coat on it which makes it pretty smooth to the touch, however, if you are interested we could definitely go over it one more time and seal it just to be sure! Let us know what you think! :)
